The beautiful city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, was the site of the 2nd BTC International Balloon Festival held on May 24 and 25, 1997. The weather was great and the area was beautiful and picturesque.
BTC is a land development company and the event was held at one of their shopping developments. Pilots were treated like royalty with wonderful meals and great flights, including a night glow. Twenty-two balloons were registered and all four flights completed.
The winner of the FireFly Cup was Milos Filimonovic, flying a FireFly 6. The hare balloon was piloted by Grega Trcek, a local pilot and one of the organizers of this event. Trcek was flying the BTC FireFly 9. The entire event was first class and the Third BTC is in the planning.
