Working with a small budget and almost no experience two French aeronauts,
Laurent Lajoye and Christophe Houver, become the first French team to cross
the Atlantic by balloon. Flying a Lindstrand built Roziere style balloon the two
also set a new duration record for category size. Reporting forBalloon Life on
this historic achievement is Philippe Buron-Pilatre, a descendant for Pilatre de
Rozier, the French aeronaut who first fly a mixed gas balloon more than two-
hundred
years
ago, photographs by Denis Bomer.
